Kenya: That…we may complete what is lacking in your Faith (1 Thes 3:10)
Brad Abley: Biblical Educator
Kenya Mega Conference: Rising From Glory to Glory
Conference Keynote Speaker for the 3rd year.
Pastor Brad Abley writes:
My dear friends, these two verses perfectly encapsulate what my ministry here in Kenya is all about.
“That...we may complete what is lacking in your faith" (1 Thess. 3:10).
" Just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake" (1 Thess. 1:5).
In fact, I believe this is the most succinct description of what the Lord has me doing on the ground in Kenya and on the radio and that also includes what I do on the ground in Uganda and on radio in Uganda
It is dismaying to have a pretty deep understanding of church life in Kenya that looks so different than the New Testament.
Churches are stuck in cultural mores which do not line up with the Word of God and this is chronic at the leadership level
I am always amazed at how much skill the Holy Spirit gives me every time I teach these wonderful people on how to bring out the teaching of Scripture to apply to their context and build healthy lives and help churches.
I only wish you could see what I see and relish in the changes that I witness in these leaders, real time. They are so hungry, so grateful to be doers of the Word of God.
Lastly, although every trip is amazing and highly productive and fruitful, this trip is greatly unique in its own way because of the team that I brought with me.
I have yearned to bring the best worship leader and a worship leader who can teach and train other worship leaders and teams on the Theology and practice of worship.
If you could see how little training they've had, yet how much they love to worship, that would explain the breathtaking -- and I'm doing breathtaking that is above and beyond outstanding impact that Krystle Talavera and her sister, Joy, have had already in just 3 days.
And of course, Bobby Hill with his enormous wisdom, experience, and skill in teaching leadership, he is the best there is, and of course he is already had a major influence.
I keep hearing from senior leaders that this is by far the best conference that Pastor Paul has put on, and I mean the enthusiasm Is sky high.
The four of us are already quite exhausted but we still have two more packed days of ministry.
I would appreciate your prayers for excellent rest and stamina. And unfortunately for me, I wake up at 1:30 or 2:00 a.m. or 2:30 a.m. every morning and am not able to get back to sleep, but somehow the Lord is enabling me and supplying his strength to enable me to finish each day well.
I so appreciate you taking time to read this report!
