Thank You for your Partnership!!

Pastor Brad Abley writes:

“Beloved, thank you for your Partnership in Prayer! The Team could not have ministered as they did without your focused efforts in Prayer! God covered us and anointed us every step of the trip. We give thanks to you for remembering us in Prayer.

Would you kindly take time to read this report? In it, I really want to express to you -- especially as I do at the end -- all you've enabled me and my team to do. I'm not sure if I've ever experienced the presence and power of God like I did for seven straight days (including the return trip) like I did on this trip.

And by His power, I don't mean temporary miracles; I refer to something eternal: Lives powerfully transformed through the mighty work of the Holy Spirit. It happened through our many sermons, intensive breakout sessions, praise and worship, times of ministry, individual conversations with Pastor Paul and so many others.

The answered prayer that preceded this time of ministry and continued was evident. The wisdom and exemplary character of Pastor Bobby, Pastor Krystle and her sister, Joy, brought enormous, highly effective and fruitful ministry that was received eagerly by the Kenyans.

Pastor Bobby, whose primary expertise is in leadership, taught leadership principles for the people that they had never heard of before and which they were eager to implement. That, right there, was worth its weight in gold.

The worship pastor of my church, Riverbend Church, is Krystle Talavera -- a worship leader like none I've ever witnessed -- with great sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, great reverence for God, great love for His people and incredible skill at leading worship and teaching worship teams. 

Recognizing this for the eight years I've known her, it has been my fervent desire to bring her with me show an aspect of worship to individuals and teams that they've never seen before. 

Along with her sister, Joy -- in her own right an extraordinary worship leader -- they indeed showed 2,000+ people worship that they have not seen before, and in the breakout sessions laid a powerful foundation in and for them.

Kenya - Mission Accomplished:

That was "mission accomplished" in a major way. My focus was to show that for one to move from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18; cf. Rom. 8:17-18), suffering, trials, afflictions, and hardships are necessary and God uses these things redemptively.

 I made it clear that the context of 2 Cor. 3:18 inescapably points to or is linked to 2 Cor. 1:3-8; 4:7-18. In my breakout session I also taught on what a healthy Church is and how to build a healthy church.

Let me say it this way: we dug deeply; we were there to be wise master builders and lay the kind of foundation in believers there that is acutely lacking. By God's grace, we taught His truth with no compromise and insisted on obeying that truth (Rom. 1:5). And we did so with love and encouragement. 

I believe all of us were shocked at such a mighty move of the Holy Spirit.  It's no wonder I've been yearning to bring such a gifted, mature team like we had. 

What a joy to not have to carry a heavy load, as I always do! I write this as we're flying back to JFK, and then, finally, to Norfolk, and I'm ENERGIZED -- not exhausted. That has NEVER happened in 10 years of ministry in Kenya or Uganda.

But equally important -- truthfully and sincerely -- is your role in this team and fruit: Apart from your investment in me, this never would have happened.  Beloved, I pray the Holy Spirit will enable you to "hear" my gratitude, which I can assure you the Kenyans share with me.

Can you hear it all the way here in Chesapeake, VA and see my smile? Truly -- in whatever ways you need -- may God our Father bless you exceedingly, on an ongoing basis!”
